Front drive shaft disassembly

I'm putting new u-joints in my front drive shaft. I would like to grease the slip joint while i have it off. How does it come apart? I can pull it out a little but it stops. I'm afraid i might damage it if i really tug on it. Is it held with a clip or something or do you have to pull harder to get it separated?

Couple of good yanks and it came off.

Might be a good time to drill and tap a hole in the female side for a zerk fitting.
