I have a '99 Expy and just recently the heater only blows cold air. I am not as technical as some of the posts I have read. Not wanting to waste time, money & energy on the standard mechanic, of which most I do not trust. Where do I begin to resolve this issue.

Separate issue is that the speedometer LCD works intermittently. All other lights and gauges work fine.

I noticed that my heater knob "slipped" from turning it too quickly when it was cold outside. I had to warm up the truck and then turn the knob back until it "caught" and then slowly move it to the red.

Give it a shot.

if its the knob pull it off take some electrical tape, a small, if not tiny piece and wrap the little metal piece with it and then put the knob back on. it should stay better that way.

On mine it wasn't really the knob tha slipped off the shaft, it was more like a slip somewhere in the 'linkage' for lack of a better term.
