Front Right AC colder then Front Left

Good evening. I am new to this forum. Searched for possible similar issues...if this problem has been posted please direct me to previous thread.

My 2013 Expy Limited is not blowing cold from Left front like it is the Right front. Dual zone control. Placed a new Left front actuator today. Blows air on cold (just not cold air as on Right). When the heat is turned up the actuator properly moves the air to heat the floor and back again when the cold is turned back up - but isn't cooling/cold as on the Right.

I have a 2015 Expedition Limited 4x4 with the dual-zone HVAC system.

On other vehicles I have owned, when one side is warmer than the other, while the a/c is in operation, has indicated a slight undercharge of the a/c refrigerant.

Perhaps have the system checked for leaks and a proper charge?

Again thank you...I knew I had to replace the actuator today as it wasn’t functioning...now I’m trying to overthink the problem. Your likely correct - will get it checked.

Which actuator did you replace? Sounds like you may need a new driver's Blend Door Actuator (BDA). This controls the temperature mix. On dual-zone models, the driver's side is a nightmare to access often requiring taking out the entire dash just to get to it.

The actuator replaced was the one under the driver’s side dash which appears to control the floor/dash vents not required to remove the dash... I’m guessing the BDA your referencing is located mid console at the base? I’m looking online to locate a diagram to show me location. Are there any DYI type info out there for this?

Yes it's on the transmission tunnel directly in front of the center console. Check YouTube for videos on this for both the Expedition and F-150. The passenger side actuator is easy to access behind the radio but the driver's side is a nightmare. IIRC, the only way to get it out without pulling the entire dash involves some "hacking" that won't let you fully install the new one because you won't be able to access all the screws. I wish someone would sue Ford over this! It's the case with so many different vehicles. . .
