Front TPMS periodically faults

On a 2020 Expedition, one or both front wheels will show the TPMS off-line (no pressure reading).
This has been happening since vehicle was new and always on longer trips and while pulling a trailer. The shifter is in ‘trailer mode’ but I don’t know if that’s related.
I think the faults always clear with a restart.
At 7000 miles I rotated the tires before a trip, and the front left TPMS went out again about 2 hours into the trip, and the front right TPMS about an hour later.

I searched online but haven’t seen a similar problem reported

Yup. If the wheel TP transmitter battery gets low, the signal will not be received by the receiving sensor. Granted, the transmitter is only on when driving, but no telling how old those tiny batteries are.
The only issue I've ever had with Michelin LTX tires was, they would sometimes outlast the tiny batteries, but that was a long time ago. Most modern TPMS transmitters use non-replaceable lithium ion batteries, "should" be good for 5 - 10 years.
