hi. New to the forum. I was told I needed my ac high pressure line replaced and there was a leak of coolant somewhere. Shop is estimating $488 for the part, labor, and AC Maintenance. With this Texas heat creeping in, I’m trying to get this fixed quickly without getting ripped off. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Should you get a second opinion?
Kind of hard to diagnose over the internet.

Find out if changing that part is a guaranteed fix. Most shops won't stretch their neck that far, but I'd sure try. They'll probably say, it should, but their may be other issues. At least that's what I would say, when I was running my shops. The phrase that was taught to me by a friend, and great mechanic, was sometimes I have to fix one problem to find another, would you like me to continue? If it's a reputable shop, give him a chance, especially if he's got good reviews.
