Question: I bought an 03 Expedition EB...

When I push the washer button, the wipers move but no fluid comes out nor do I hear the pump. I read somewhere the expedition uses one pump for front and back, is that true? I have jumped out the pump that is on the right side of the tank and can make the back washer pump work, but didnt jump the pump the other way to see if it came out the front...if it uses one pump. Otherwise where is the pump located so I can try and jump it out to see whats going on?

I had a 97 Expedition before and the stalk where the washer button wore out and the wipers would go, but wouldnt pump anything. So, I want diagnose it before spending money on a pump, and then stalk, etc...

Also, when I bought the guy I bought it from said he disconnected the rear wiper motor, not sure why. Could that be the problem?

Thank you!

I have the EXACT same issue... Took my '06 to the dealer and they said without the rear wiper motor connected and operating normally the wiper fluid won't spray unless it's grounded separately, in my case I'm just going to get a new motor from a salvage yard for $40 and that should fix the problem... I'll be sure to let you know if it does!

If you can get to the connector for the pump you could disconnect it and hook a volt meter or test light up to see if your getting voltage to the pump

There are 3 fuses for the front and rear wipers/pump F-1 F-38 and F-113.

If the rear wiper has been disconnected it will effect the pump operation

and the pump is for both front and rear washers

Can you read and understand wiring diagrams

I fixed it. My rear wiper was disconnected and as soon as I connected the motor the pump worked! The transmission that goes through the window for the wiper needs replaced so I will be doing that soon. Thats all that is wrong. Thanks for your help.

Just had the same problems as stated above but the transmission that goes thru the window I was able to disassemble and repair. There's a small clip with a washer under it that allows disassembly, took some pb blaster and a cresant wrench to work it loose but once apart it's just a bronze bushing inside which was corroded. Once it was cleaned up again I reassembled with copper anti seize and it works like new again! Thanks for the help!
