Hi Guys
I have a 99 Expy and the # 5 fuse keeps blowing .
Wondered if this is a common issue . It controls a/c clutch , speed-control , and heater blend door . (That I'm aware of )Any common places to look for a short etc. ? I have changed out the blend door dial switch . Any advise on this will be much appreciated .
Thanks

Print attached You should try and disconnect the connectors to see what is causing the fuse to blow

Not yet , that's my next step , to systematically turn each on to try and locate the short or switch / component that could be the cause . Changed the fuse one cool morning for heat . Blend door changed to heat no problem , ran the air via defrost setting and even checked to see if the cruise worked . All ok , on the way back from Doc Appt. Noticed cruise didn't work again , sure enough #5 was blown .

Check the wire starting at the ac clutch going to the fuse. While tracing, pay close attention to wires that are touching bare metal.

Don't pay any attention to docraymund's advice

The best way to troubleshoot this problem is to take one system at a time and not jump all over the place
