Not unless you need it. If the thing says 87, use 87.

If it knocks, you could then step it up to 89.

Only use 93 if you have a tune or some other way to make use of it.

I use 87 as well, and it runs good on it... no mods on my 5.4 yet. Plus it doesn't hurt so bad in my bank account. Premium gas is only when it's required by the manufacturer, or you got an engine that can benefit from it...

Not to hijack thread, but since we are on the subject of gas, what kind of prices are ya'll seeing around the u.s. ? Here in North Mississippi, It's 3.09 for regular. And steady rising ( i fueled up thursday morning and it was 2.95, 14 cents in two days....) . My mom lives in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl, and spent 3.39 last time she fueled up her land rover. What are you guys seeing?

You use E-85 in your 5.4L Expedition? I thought the Expedition 5.4L was not setup for E-85? I have an 02 yukon that I'm going to be trading in on an 08 Expedition and my Yukon is a flex fuel 5.3L but I can't buy E-85 anywhere here (Phoenix).

I can do anything I want with a little hacking of the computer.....LOL

I usually have to run premium in mine because of the supercharger but it runs even better on the E85 since I can run more timing........

I am beta testing some flex fuel tuning on a completely stock 03 right now and all seems to be working as expected.

But I thought that E85 is corrosive to certain parts of the fuel system if the engine and fuel system were not designed to specifically be a "flex fuel" system?

Didn't get a chance to watch all of it, but a good video from what I saw. Lots of good information.
