Gear Indicator on Panel

My neighbor has a 2018 F150 and while we were driving to fish last week, his instrument panel showed the gears (1-10), in a vertical line just left of the speedometer, with the active gear shown lit. He told me it was in the advanced settings, but thus far, I've not been able to find that option. Anyone know where this is? Thanks

Hey Bill, like the other thread (honk, honk) we were chatting about, I think this can be made permanent with the Forescan tool and a minor software adjustment.

No manual mode needed to toggle this display on/off. Mine stays on how it was last left. I usually just leave it so I can see which gear I'm in.

No need to press M, just press +

And once you turn it on it’ll stay that way until you turn it off.

You can use the minus to limit the gears in auto as well. Not sure when this would be used but it’s possible. Drag strip? Pull off?

It can also be use to limit speed on downhill stretches.

Works as described. I even like its location (small window inside tach) better than on the F150. Thanks again gents!

The gear display did show up on mine so I played around a little...I can toggle it off or on by hitting the "+" by the selector knob. When toggled on, it is still in automatic and I can see the gears being selected in auto. You may have accidentally hit the "+" which toggles on that display. Hit it again and the display will disappear.
