I plan on doing a 3/2 lift with 295/70/17 tires. Gonna keep my stock wheels for now until I can afford new ones to accommodate 35s. I wanna move up from the stock gear to a 4.10 or 4.30. I don't think the 4.30 is a option for our trucks though. I just can't seem to figure out what the rear diff is. I've read 8.8 and 9.75 were put in them. I'm pretty sure the front is a 8.8 reverse cut. It's a daily driver that doesn't go off road unless you count the potholes in my driveway haha. Anyone have any input? Thanks

I would believe 9.75.... Not too sure though as I haven't owned or worked on a ford newer than '04. Check ringpinion.com. Should be able to figure out there. Someone with more knowledge on that year will chime in too.

I know ringpinion.com shows pics of the diff covers to help identify what you have as well.

I did read that rear 8.8 was installed with 4.6 engines and the 5.4 had the 9.75. But I know how ford is when they do a body style change. They borrow stuff from the previous yr and add new stuff. Makes identification fun some times lol. Thanks guys

I had fun with my 2000 f150. I had the 9.75 axle that used 8.8 shaft seals. Took me a couple days to figure out why the seals I bought wouldn't work.
