Is there any way to get better navigation or just traffic on a 2011 with the sync system? Free syrious radio has given me traffic, but I know that's about to end. Any apps that can be used through this older sync system? I see how the sync 3 can use all kinds of gps apps! Thanks in advance, Zach J

You'd be better off getting an Ipad and using Waze on it. Its cheaper than upgrading your system, and you can do virtually everything with the IPad. And you don't have to leave it in the vehicle.

I paid for Sirius traffic subscription in my truck and it was NEVER accurate ! Always lagged behind, I would be sitting in traffic on the highway and my screen would show GREEN!!! It would eventually catch up maybe 10-20mins later. I called Sirius to complain, 20mins of my life I'll never get back. They gave me a one time $5 credit, BFD! I ended up cancelling their useless traffic subscription. It sucks because I want the truck to be accurate, that's why I bought the NAV version, to use it! I'm always busy with my phone for other stuff so I don't want to have to launch WAZE with it.

Sirius doesn't provide any traffic data in my neck of the woods.

If you're OK with stand-alone any Garmin GPS under $200 (probably lower) has "lifetime maps and traffic." I sometimes feel a little silly running redundant GPS systems with the Sync3 in my 2017 but when they disagree I normally take the Garmin's advice. Plus I can change settings when the truck is in motion, unlike the nanny in the Sync. I already had this unit in my very basic 2007 and it's now 4 years old. Maps and firmware were updated last week.

I don't believe all brand names are superior (witness Sony) but I've used Garmin GPS in cars, boats, and aircraft and trust them. And, yeah, I've now had 3 Ford SUVs and run Bridgestone or Continental tires on my other vehicles. And will when it comes time for whatever tires are on my Expedition right now.

GPS prices are very affordable and I stopped swapping one between the Expedition and my S2000. (I had two Valentine1 units before my move to Virginia. :) )
