okay as some know i just recently did the gotts mod. also some have too. its GREAT! i know some people are like you cant feel the extra 7 hp. well i can. with the weight of these trucks and how little power i had originally i can feel the extra 7 hp. going up hill on freeways has improved. i can pass easier. mileage improvement i would say yes but i am not so sure yet. i would know once my tank gets low and i refill it. then i will re post saying how much i think it has improved. so if you have a stock intake this will take like an hour or so to do if you have the parts if not then after you get them it will. plus i cleaned everything but my filter. i need new cleaner and oil. but it is well worth the $15 and hour. makes a little, but significant difference.

I read so much about the Gotts Mod that i decided to try it.
I took my K&N cai off and put the stock air system back on ( with the Gotts Mod of course). I can really feel the difference. As for gas mileage, I can't tell you of it is any better because I am always pushing the gas pedel alittle harder to hear the better sound. I sold my K&N cai on Ebay. I would advise anybody to try the gotts mod before investing in a cai system. Its a heck of alot cheaper. Gotts Mod cost me about $13 and I have extra PVC pipe left over( you only need about 5 inches of pipe. I already had a K&N replacement filter so I was ready to go

just an update. ive noticed some mileage increase but since i did mine when i have 1/3 gone of gas im not sure if it was an increase or just cause i was on the freeway for the other 100 miles. but also freeway she runns so much better. throttle response has increased a lot. i dont need to puch it to the floor as much to get off the line quickly. i was messing around between lights and my gf told me to stop flooring it. i was at half power. so it was well worth it. now time to get rid of my hypertech programmer and get my self an edge.

So i just went outside and looked at it, the narrowest part of the "snorkel" is just under 3" so i guess ford got it right in 05, and no it dosent seperate at all untill the bend so if you wanted to do this the you would have to cut into the intake itself. But not me

the only problem ive had was a weird rpm increase when i let go of the gas. i would be crusin and i let go and for a split sec the rpm go up about 100 then down. but mpg increased. but like i said b4 idk how much cause i did it at about half tank. but usually 300 per tank im at 315. dont ask how i made it home. haha schools far from my house. getting gas in morning.

Did you reset the computer after doing the Gotts Mod? Just unhook the battery for a while. Next time you start it, let it warm up by itself for about 5-10 min. Then drive normal for a few miles. It should reset and relearn the idle settings, and how much IAC is needed when you let off the gas while driving etc.

How about the throttle body? Have you tried cleaning the linkage and maybe spray some WD-40 on it? Or possibly try cleaning the idle air control? I think it's one of those two things. The idle air control may be hanging open too much or the throttle body is not returning quickly enough to the idle stop.

Have you cleaned the throttle body? I took mine off and cleaned the back side of the throttle plate that gets carbon-ed up. Just use carb spray and a rag. If the carbon is still there use an old tooth brush. Caution: don't use anything that can cause a spark.
