Hello all.... 1st question to the family here. What model years, trim level or other option included the blacked out front grill? I saw one recently and wasn't sure if it was an aftermarket part or factory.

I think if it's just an unpainted black grille, it's the ssv police package. And then of course, you have the limited grille, which is body color. Unknown If it comes unpainted new from ford or not.

2008-2010 Limited models had the body color grille; they discontinued it after that on Limited models. 2007 might have had it also, but I don't have the brochure handy for that year. 2011-2012 XLT models with the Sport Appearance package had it also. Keep in mind if you're looking to match the color, different model years offered different blacks:

- 2008: Black
- 2009: Black; Black Pearl Slate Metallic
- 2010: Tuxedo Black Metallic
- 2011: Tuxedo Black Metallic
- 2012: Black
- 2013: Tuxedo Black Metallic

Hey thanks guys, that was exactly what I wanted to know. I should have added that my rig is a 14 in Tuxedo black metallic.

I have a 2012 Limited and it's Tuxedo Black.

Looked everywhere for a whole year for a Black one but never found one.

Finally gave in and just bought the Tuxedo, that i can not stand.

Yes, that's what I was looking for....non-metallic black.

What I got was Tuxedo Black covered in flake....looks gray.

I had heard that in 2012 the vendor ran out of Tuxedo so there were a limited amount of Black 2012's running around till the vendor replenished the flake paint.

This might have been limited to F150's though.
