I would say you are correctly interpreting it..Can't complete the Smog Check because I haven't completed all the required driving cycles since the last time the battery was disconnected.
What the BlueDriver did show was a short to ground which maybe explains why my 1999's batteries have always seemed short-lived. The current battery was installed 1/2025.
Am I interpreting this correctly?
Where was the short physically? I want to get one of those wands that use rf signal that quickly finds the locationI found the short to ground by looking in the most obvious place but, to be sure, I yanked the fuse(#116) for the rear window and mirror heaters. Frost is not much of an issue where we live.
AI wasn't used for this decision and HI might not have played much of a role either.
The terminal on the top left side of the rear window broke off a long, long time ago but I didn't fix it because it wasn't needed. Instead, I tucked the connector and wire behind the trim panel and forgot about it. But at some point the connector broke off and left an exposed wire which was contacting the frame.Where was the short physically?
It’s a good feeling to know what happened, good job!The terminal on the top left side of the rear window broke off a long, long time ago but I didn't fix it because it wasn't needed. Instead, I tucked the connector and wire behind the trim panel and forgot about it. But at some point the connector broke off and left an exposed wire which was contacting the frame.
This may have been going on for years but I never knew about it until BlueDriver showed that short to ground.
A link to this magic wand, please.I want to get one of those wands that use rf signal that quickly finds the location
