Had New Key Made for '05 Expit

You can have a second ignition key made at you local lock and key shop. I didn't need two master keys, and didn't have to go to the dealer to have it made and programmed. Dealer wanted about $150.00 to do it. The lock smith ask what year it was, cut the key and plugged in his reader for about 10 min.s and the job was done. Cost was $60.00 which is less then half what the dealer wanted. Sure glad I asked!

Lesson: All owners should have 3 keys!!!

You can program a 3rd key from the first 2 for free -- all you need is the 3rd key and access to the first 2.

So have 3 keys -- if you have 2, make a 3rd ($15 to $25) and read your instruction manual.

Do it SOON. If you get down to 1 key, you are screwed......

Yes...

You want to sell your's for less? High mileage does not mean abused. At least in KC area, I think I got a decent deal, though it had issues like the paint on tailgate, drivers seat motor (I fixed for $0), drivers lock acctuator ($30 plus my labor) and a CD changer that is stuck.....

The 5.4 motor is good for lots of miles and I intend to drive less than 2k a year (tow vehicle for local horse trailer traffic, and the occassional snow storm). Worst part is actually all the do-dads that an EB Expy includes -- I would have rather not had the sun roof, power seats and air suspension......
