Has anyone actually used an Edge CTS and had it work?

I'm asking because I want to know if there is a chance I could get mine to program my vehicle. If not, I'm gonna try to get my money back, because it said it would tune my truck, and it won't, and that's false advertisement.

Forgot to mention it's a 2000 Expedition EB, so I'm asking if anyone with a 1st gen Expy or 10th gen F-150 has had an Edge CS or CTS work

I had one so when you say you "want it to work"
what is it not doing? I think they work great

I am wondering if he is trying to "program" his vehicle that has a bad ECM/PCM
So in other words, starting with a blanks slate, so "no" it wont to that
when you are using an Edge and want to change the "programs" the unit first removes and downloads your current program from your truck into the Edge then you make your custom program or install one of the ones that come in the unit. That way you always have your trucks current program to go back to.

Every time I try to use a canned tune, it doesn't even bother to make a copy of the stock tune and put a new tune on. It just tells me "There was a problem preparing the vehicle, if this problem persists, call technical support" or something like that. But I called PHP and they offered to trade it out for an SCT Livewire TS. I'd love to figure out why this one doesn't work though, it works fine with all the sensors, all the gauges work, just won't tune.

It maybe tuned already. Sometimes when it's already tuned there's no stock tune to download.

that is strange, I'd just trade it in so can get the tunes you want

Well, the thing is, I'm afraid that even if I get this Livewire in, it still won't work, because it's something wrong with my vehicle. Can anyone get me a pic of their OBD2 connector? I wanna make sure I'm not missing something.

I had actually considered that being the problem. I may take it to a dealer tomorrow and see what's up. I wonder what they'll charge to flash it back to stock if it is tuned.

In a past life I worked on desktop computers & main frames. From a computer viewpoint it sounds like hardware failure - bad ecm or the datalink harness. It would help if the error had a number associated with it to help with trouble shooting. Is the failure reading the current params, downloading the params, initial handshake etc.

My battery ran dead while flashing.. It wiped out my stock tune, and didnt write the custom tune. Luckily edge had me plug it in to fusion, and remotely put my stock tune back onto the edge cs, I replaced my weak battery and all has been good since!
