I have searched the forum for some information about removing and replacing the HEATER CORE. Has it been documented any place other than Haynes or Chiltons?

How do you get to the rear 5/16 screw that holds the heater/ac box together?
Thanks

Hey GRIP,
It's a 97. I started the job , what a PIA. Looks like Ford engineers had a heater box hangin' around and decided to build a truck around it. There is some good information at the f150 site. The dealer wanted about $1200.00. OBTW. This is the front heater core. If you have front/rear heat you can bypass the front and just use the rear. Defrosting is a problem.... depends on where you live. At this time I have just installed the new core and getting ready to reassemble. Total parts so far $86.40. About 7-1/2hrs over 3 days.
