ok, here is a sneaky one that I had before. Remove the temperature knob from the control panel and make sure that is intact. I thought I was having heat problems but I removed the knob to find out that in the back it was cracked and it wasn't actually turning the temperature knob but turning OVER it.

Turns out I didn't have a problem with the system, just a bad knob.

Did you ever fix your heater problem?

Good Morning,

I have a 2000 Expo that is experiencing similar problems. The heat coming from the front and back vents will be warm initially then it will get cold. My mechanic said that it was the heater core but he never addressed the rear heat. What are the odds that both heater cores would fail? I'm going to change the TStat this weekend. Was your upper radiator warm or hot to the touch? I felt mine it was just warm. Were you able to fix your problem? If so, any pointers or tips would be greatly appreciated. This is a very frustrating and cold problem.
