I just joined last week. I came across the site looking for what I can do to better enjoy my 2008 EB Expedition EL. Right now, this is my wife's ride and I have a company car but it looks like we are moving from company cars to allowances and I'll be taking over the Expy because the wife is not as thrilled with driving such a big ride anymore.

So, I'm here to see how I can improve performance without spending a ton of $$. We are getting ready to send it into the body shop because my wife backed into another vehicle this past winter. Once that's done, and we figure out why the power driver's seat doesn't work, all will be well. I'm thinking of adding a cold air intake in the short term and not sure about long term. Due to the job, I'll only be driving it for another 1.5-2 years because we are only allowed to have rides that are 5 years old or newer.

Anyway...looking forward to checking things out here. It seems like there are a lot of current or prior Military here. God Bless you guys and thank you for your service!

Watch Out!

Be careful when you start doing mods, cause you won't ever wanna stop lol. CAI is a heck of a good start though. Always helps. Welcome aboard.

Welcome! Dont waste your money on an intake unless you plan on getting a tune and a full exhaust.

Thanks on the heads up. That has crossed my mind as well. Have any suggestions on exhaust?

welcome and I wouldn't do a true CAI unless your gonna do a lot to it.... better off using a drop in K&N filter and a exhaust for some HP and MPG gains...

Thanks for the info. For the exhaust, it would have to be relatively tame in terms of noise because I will have to use the vehicle for work. I would be interested in hearing opinions on this.

Yes. Right now it's company cars. The intent for the future is to have an allowance large enough that it covers the cost of the car, insurance, and fuel. Considering I already pay for the fuel, I'm going to use it all for the car and insurance. It's likely going to be $750-800/mo that they give us.

Thanks for the recommendations on exhaust. I'll be looking more closely at that as soon as it's no longer driven by my wife. I have attached a pic of the ride. It's a terrible pic, taken in the rain when I picked up my boat this spring. I'll get some better ones soon.
