any update on this as I'm curious if they really found the culprit or just guessing it was that based on them seeing the aftermarket shocks and saying that b/c it was easier to diagnose since they weren't going to dive into remedy. Seems unusual as its pretty much the same design as factory. Im running the bilsteins as well.
Ended up replacing the front Bilstien 5100s with Icon Vehicle Dynamics 2.5 coilovers. Running them at the lowest recommended setting, equaling ~0.80 inches of lift as measured on an alignment rig. Funny thing is the Icons DID NOT solve the clunk, however they did lessen it (softer overall setup). Took it to an independent shop that was willing to really dive into it, and they were unable to reproduce with me in the vehicle and on their own during the week they had it. Very frustrating, but if for some unknown reason the clunk actually has dissipated, I may never know the true cause. I'll just be happy its gone. This new shop did find the cause of a minor interior noise that I've had since day one as they thought it might be connected. In the case of the interior it was the lower anchor boot contacting the plastic side piece of the seat. Anchor boot has a felt backing but it is worn through.

Did some investigating on 2019 expedition this morning before driving it left side swaybar link looked fine and the bushings looked OK. Noticed the top bushing itself was down slighly from hellweg away bar attachment point. So I sprayed white lithium grease on it a tested it out on turns and speed bumps where I generally get the thump. Noise didn't developed on any of those maneuvers. So more than likely I will need the endlinks replaced at some time. I must admit that those swaybars are pretty hefty compared to the ones that were replaced. Just what I experienced.
