so for some dam reason i have a problem with my anti theft kicking on and killing all electronics to the truck. i will turn the key to on and have to let it sit for a little bit then turn to start. if not and i put the key in and go straight to start BAM! nothing! everything dies. i have to go open the hood take off the terminal and put it back on. then its all good. like idk why its doing this. but it is sure killing my mileage. im down 50 miles for this tank. :( could it be cause i have all these electronics i added to the battery? or what? if it is that then i will just redo the wiring some how. idk whats going on. i think i might just deal with it till i get some 0 gauge wire and do the big 3 see if that helps.

I don't know anything about electronics, but your new wiring could have something to do with it, but who knows. Is this the first time you've had this problem? I'm glad I don't have an alarm system on mine.

Sounds like when my positive terminal wasn't making good contact with the battery post. It would do it randomly, where I would go to start it, and everything died. I would have to get off, jiggle the connector around a bit till my hood light turned out, then go to start. Sometimes, I'd have to have someone start it while I held the connector in place.

Finally, I took off the terminal, squeezed it with some pliers, and put it back on. Now, it has a nice, tight fit and no more failures to start. :)

I wouldn't think the PATS would disable all the electronics, just the engine. Maybe with all the new wiring, you need to tighten some connections, or get a better terminal to accommodate all the wiring.

Did you try roughing the terminal and connector up to try to get a better fit? I think I remember you getting new connectors. I have always gone with the big lead ones you can get for like 2 bucks a piece.

You can get a battery post bush thing they sell, or I've used a pliers before.
