the wifes expo has been nothing but good to us but then had a small power steering leak on top of the radiator on the passenger side. put some leak stop and I thought it was working and then all the sudden my driveway is covered with fluid and we have to put two bottles a day just to keep it going. its leaking over both radiators and passenger side of engine. there is a hose that runs out of the power steering reservoir and over the front radiator. im going to put it out of commission until fixed and hoping someone else has had this problem and can shed some light on the possible fix.

if the leak is on the passenger side you need the AC condenser/ power steering cooler. the top 2 lines on the AC condenser is the power steering cooler and there has been known problems with them leaking.

...its leaking over both radiators and passenger side of engine...

I had a coolant leak over the passenger side of the engine that cost me about $900 because the dealer said all 4 coil packs on that side of the engine had to be replaced due to the coolant pooling up on top of them.

I'd clean everything up with Gunk engine cleaner, refill the reservoir and search the source of the leak. Then if possible post a pic so others with this gen can give more detailed advice.

I cleaned up everything and the looks like the leak is coming out of the bottom of the most front size radiator(not the small one) does anyone what this could be or what this exact radiator is called...also when I tried to disconnect a silver pipe from the passenger bottom side of that radiator green shit shot at me... any idea what this is

If you have a cell phone that can plug into the computer, take a picture and upload it. If you do not, let me know and I will go take a picture of what I have and we can go from there. Also, try to follow the silver pipe back into the engine bay and see where they lead. "Green shit" sounds like engine coolant to me. I have two radiators/coolers in front of the regular radiator, one is the transmission cooler, the other is possibly a power steering cooler? I cannot find any research on the Expy, only F-150's. Power steering fluid is red though, so its hard to say.

What year truck are we even looking at? I forgot this is the 3rd gen section haha.

Can you see the leak occurring when the truck is running? Also is it leaking out of the hose coupling or out of the radiator itself? What color is the fluid that is leaking out of it, red or green?

Ford has the engine diagrams in their parts dept. Often what I do is go in and have them find the part I am looking for, and then tell them I will come back and go from there.

Sorry for reviving this thread but I’d figured I’d ask since I’m having the same issue with my expedition. Did the you find the source with your leak?

Has anyone experienced this same power steering leak from the front of their trucks?

This is 4 years old, doubt you will hear anything on how he fixed it.

Why not start a new thread for your problem?

I had a leak on the front drivers side, it was the return line. It had a small crack in it that would seep and get blown around making a mess. Replaced the line and it was all good.

Here is a video to show the exact line I replaced.
