I've been reading this forum quite a bit, and it's been helpful and informational in a lot of ways. I even have a folder full of cool looking Expy pics from here.
My name is Jon, and I'm quite simply a big fan of my 2001 Expedition XLT 5.4 V8. I drive a lot of vehicles for a living, and that Exply is still my favorite vehicle to drive.
I bought it around December last year (2013) after owning a lil' 1998 Exploder sport 2 door, which was OK until the hood blew open going down the freeway at 70 mph...fun. It was also only RWD, which I don't see the point of in an SUV. But that's just my personal opinion. It would also feel like it was going to brake apart going that speed, which it also did, natch.
So after owning that, and some other vehicles, i got my 2001 Expy for $3400
with 145 000 miles on it or so... and man, I still adore the thing (Never had a problem with it thus far).
I have some plans for a 2 or 3" body lift, some bigger tires...and eventually swapping out the suspension and shocks, and plasti-dipping the b*tch...
Anyway...here are some pictures of the beast...

And a little sanding video...Don't worry...the sand is deeper than it looks...
