hid off road lights

hello guys, i got my hid off road lights in last night. they have internal ballasts and my question is do i need to run them off a relay or just straight through a switch. they say 9 amps draw per light. my dads hellas have a relay but draw more amperage. what do you guys think? thank you, dan

I would run a relay. You will get cleaner power to the lights and you won't need to run as big of a wire to the switch.

thats kinda what i was thinking. havent played with hid lighting yet so figured i would see if it was overkill or a better thing to do.
