Today I noticed the TPS sensor was reading 20% at idle. I took the sensor off and it dropped to 3% when not mounted, but unfortunately it's not adjustable. When I was trying to reinstall it, I somehow broke it and the internal stop is broken. I had to get another one.
On the new one, I drilled out the metal bushings for the mounting screws, so that I can rotate it and fine tune the idle adjustment. With the TPS adjusted to as low as I could get, 15%, now I have a high idle. It was idling at 1500 for a while, then after drving it's down to 1000 rpm. I have the SCT tuner and my idle is programmed for 600 but won't go below 1000 since the mod.
My question is if the truck has an "idle learn" procedure. I have the manuals on cd rom and can't find it if it exists.
