We just took delivery of a 2001 XLT. We're pretty happy with the truck but the brakes lack a certain neck snapping bite that we'd like.

But I'm driving a Civic and She's driving a Chrysler minivan. Is it the weight and the ABS?

Should I be able to lock it up? On wet pavement it stopped quick enough but i could not get it to brake loose.

It feels just like a 98 F250 I had but that truck was a beater for dump runs.

When stopping on wet pavement, the pedal should vibrate, assuming the ABS activates. It should still do it on dry, it's just easier to do on wet pavement.

On mine, it does feel a bit less snappy than when driving smaller cars. For piece of mind, you could go ahead and do a brake change and line bleed. How much is left of the pads/rotors that are on right now?
