Hi new to this forum and new to Ford trucks too...
Bought an 01 eb expy in march and put new tires on right away. Sears did the alignment told me camber in front right tire is out by 1 degree. Printout said max is .9 degree. Sears said I need a camber kit. I have heard them tell this lie before. I did some rear susp. work on my 99 deville and the camber was out (of course). They told me it was not adjustable and it needed a camber kit. I knew this was bs but I couldn't remember HOW it was adjusted at the time. Left really mad called manager from home and quoted procedure from my fsm. Went back next day and they aligned it for half price.
I'm thinking either ignorance or laziness sears only wants to adjust toe in so they just say camber kit for everything they don't understand?
I'm getting some feathering (heel toe) on both sides of each tire. Think the tie rod ends might be worn, (checking this weekend) so if I'm replacing those I'm getting it aligned and if the camber is truly not adjustable I guess I'll invest in a camber kit.
Sorry for long post what's the opinion? Camber kit or BS? Not going back to sears either way.
