How much tire do you think a 17x7.5 stock 98 EB rim will hold safely? 285/75/17, 305/70/17?? Let me know what you think, I want to get some larger tires but I havent lifted yet and cant afford new rims yet. Let me know your thoughts.

my thoughts, if you plan on lifting it and getting new rims someday, i would wait until then to put on larger tires. no need to waste money. just my opinion.

stock rims with stock ride hight you can fit 295/70/17 with no rubbing, ... i agree if your gonna lift and get wheels dont waste the and just wait or check craigs list for some decent used tires for low cash

Threw some 285/70/17 bfg at's on my 98 EB and needed a slight fender trim on one side only due to bent fender. Also have taken it thru full travel offroad with no rubbing. hope that helps!

yeah dont waist your money i put 32 inch super swampers on mine a few days after christmas, not 3 months later have 5 inches of lift and tires that are to small for my truck. resale on mud tires are terable, keep it cheap till you lift then get new tires, im now trying to get a set of 36 superswampers, and the ones i have only have about 500 miles on them, and i will have to bite the cost to replace with bigger tires

I have 285's on mine, and no issues at all, not even close.........Plus they have a meatier look but still very much factory look......I bought a set of Kuhmo's for a slightly more agressive tread design, then my usual Michelins........Work great.
