I have a 2016 XLT with the same Sync system as the OP and hit a brick wall because in my menu I can't get past the Sync-Media option.. When I select it, it acts like it's going to take me to that menu for a split second, then it just comes back to the previous menu. I never found a solution. A battery disconnect for a few hours made no difference.

I forgot to mention that the only way I could get the menu to stay open is if I had Bluetooth connected or trying to connect (yes I know this is nearly impossible since the Bluetooth connection is not working) but it can be done if you are quick. Once you get in the menu it won’t continue to kick you out.

It is a ridiculously difficult process.

If you can’t get through the menu try this instead of just a disconnect.

I have not done this yet and am not positive it effects the sync system memory or not.
