Compass shows -- in dashboard, how can I get it to work? SSV L, no Sync

Hi, fist post ever, I have read and learned a lot here.

I have a 2016 Expedition L SSV. It came with basic radio and CD, no SYNC. The compass signal in the Dashboard shows two dashes. Is there a way to get the signal to work?
I have added an after market SONY AXV--1000 with ACCESS adapter and I made steering wheel controls work. Aside from this, I can't find the Compass source -if module is present-, if not present, what can I do to add it?

Missing temperature reading -it was on the stereo- too
