I can't hear my fuel pump from the inside of my 97 expedition and don't know if I should be able to hear it or not. I just changed plugs and a few coil packs and truck don't want to start now.

I'm pretty sure changing the plugs and coil packs wouldnt have a negative effect on the fuel pump...maybe you tripped something on the computer or whatever. I dont know if the 97 has it or not, but some cars have a fuel pump cut off feature if it thinks its been in a car accident. Maybe if you undo the battery and reset the computer it might be fixed? I don't really know. Just spitballing.
Also you should be able to hear fuel pump every time you turn the key to the "on" position.

It ran before but not good. I would try to give it gas by pushing throttle and it would want to cut off so I changed the plugs, they were black. I hooked battery up tried to start and didn't hear fuel bump and truck wouldn't start. I keep battery unhooked until I try to start it.
