Got our first Expedition last week...a 2004 XLT with 99,000 miles on it. One owner vehicle, in beautiful condition. No bells or whistles, but that's OK.
A family of 7, we have had a decent Town & Country van for 4 years, and were well served by it, but, although it had a tow package, it wasn't beefy enough to tow our pop-up camper and all 7 of us!
We're not new to Fords, as our college son has our 1997 Explorer still running (pretty) strong. Rebuilt the tranny a year ago. It's been a rather reliable rig.
