Hey everyone I'm from Amarillo, Tx, which is smack dab in the middle of the Texas Panhandle. I just bought me a 1998 Expedition 4x4. I was previously driving a 1996 Land Rover Discovery but it decided to lock up the torque converter so I decided to look for another truck. I was tired of hard to find, and outrageously priced parts (i.e. IAC cost of $300 and no local parts stores could get one). We had bought my wife a 2005 Eddie Bauer 2wd Expedition and other than it being a 2wd I enjoyed her truck. So I found my '98 on CL and luckily the guy only wanted $1500 cause he had no mechanical knowledge and his mechanic had spooked him about the truck. I'll post some pics as soon as I can ut the truck has no real major issues, good paint and body, and the interior is a little worn but still in really good shape. It has dual flowmaster exhaust and a K&n CAI. So here I am I look forward to gaining as much knowledge as I can about these amazing trucks and getting to know everyone.

mjrwraith - It's good to meet you. I too am in a similar situation. I just picked up a 1998 Expedition Eddie Bauer 5.4 litre 4wd vehicle last weekend and am excited about working on it this weekend. Mine is running well, but the brakes are shot and need to be worked on before taking her out on anything adventurous. This week would have been a good week for me to have it fully operational as it has snowed a ton out here in Norther Virginia and my daily driver Ford Fusion is not really the type of vehicle for that weather.

My interior is, specifically the driver seat is leather and very worn/torn and I am interested in either repairing it or replacing it. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears.
