HVAC blower stops intermittently

My wife told me today that the blower on the heater storeds working today just as if you turned off the switch. Wouldn't work using the on screen buttons either. Once I checked it, it did work but only for couple minutes. Any guidance to the resolution of this problem would be greatly appreciated

Sounds like the problem I had. For me it turned out to be the blower motor resistor.

Oops! I meant it was the blower motor resistor.

Mine was fixed by simply unplugging the wires going to the blower motor and re-seating the plug by plugging it back in. No more problems in the last 4 months.

Mine stopped for maybe five seconds a few times but has always came back on, will have to check wiring. Thanks for posting your repair solution.

Just make sure it hasn't been on right before hand. It'll burn you.

You might also check the molex under the dash near the blower motor. The large wire on mine had got hot enough a few times to partially melt the part of the plug so the fan would quit at random times. I ordered a replacement through fordparts.com .

O'Relliy's carries the replacement harness. About $28 and came in a Ford bag made in Mexico. Same problem as other main lead wire had got hot and burned plug. Wire colors may differ. Good luck

Had same 2 probs only on a 2000 F250. In the end had to replace blower motor. I got my resistor and harness replacement at O’Reillys as well. Resistor (BWD for both) was around $17 and harness $10 at most. It was a ***** because on firewall behind AC condenser had to use wrench took forever in 10 deg weather, everything rusted, plastic crumbled getting it apart, and also the vehicle height. It was a bastard. I soldered my wires and used shrink wrap. I’ve not seen it mentioned, but I would recommend cleaning good with electrical cleaner and using dielectric grease to seal it as a preventive measure. I realize on the Expy it’s not on the firewall so not as exposed to the elements, but still a ***** to get at for me anyway. Just sharing my experience and lessons learned to add more depth

I had a connection issue down in the area of the passengers right foot. Clean and reset ops chk sat at this time!

Shit. Looks like it happened again. Just ordered another blower control module. Seems odd that it would happen again after a year or less.

The problem has repeated intermittently, here as well. I've secured the proper resistor and the replacement plug end and will do the surgery this weekend. Note that there are two types of resistosr. The small wedge shape is for manual temp controls while the larger one, with the aluminum heat sinc, is for automatic temp control applications.
