Sup again, newbie here. So all I get is highs coming out of my speakers. From reading I assume the amp is gone. Without having to get a new amp, or anything how can I get a lil bass back in my rear speakers at least. Would just buying some 6x9's do it? If so can I use factory wiring?

Best thing for added bass would be a few different options. Simply adding more speakers wired into the existing wiring (which is connected to the amp) would not supply enough power and therefore run into the same current issue. I would suggest running an aftermarket amp and your own wires for the door speakers and at that point you can add more speakers in the rear. You could also run an separate amp and sub for added bass. This is all dependent on how much cash you feel like spending on this fix. If you do choose to run a separate amp you will need to get an inline RCA converter and mount it behind the head unit unless you are already running and aftermarket head unit.

Check your sub first. If you have the Mach audio system, and the rear sub blows, all of your bass will get cut off to keep the amp from blowing. I had this happen in mine. It sounded like I was listening to a tin can. As soon as I hooked up the new sub, all of the bass and mids were back. The sub is in the rear passenger panel and if it's stock, I can almost guarantee it's blown.
