my beloved expy is scaring the s**t out of me. today on the way to the stealership to return a part, my a4wd, 4x4, low range, and low washer lights were flashing off and on. i thought nothing of it since it didnt shift into 4x4 at all. later on the way back, the o/d light on the shifter began flashing with the 4x4 lights. on the homestretch, i felt kind of a "clunk", it may have just been me being so worried that i may have hought i felt somthing. this just worries me very much because my dad spent his 401k reserves on this expy and a focus. the focus is fine, but the expy, nothing but trouble. but we love to hate it. i love expeditions, but i believe that if we can, we should try to get somthing different. what is your opinion on this?

how many miles are on it? Problems have to be expected at 13 years old , and it doesn't seem like you bought it new so you don't know how hard it was beat by the previous owner (I've never bought a used car that didn't end up needing some repairs). I'd say just fix it because the next used car you have is just as likely to have problems the same or worse whether it's a ford, chevy, toyota, bmw, etc.

sounds to me like a fault in the transfercase clutch assembly that will make the lights blink....

also check all of your ground straps that is more likly the cause of this problem
