hey guies i was wondering on the 97-02 expos, are the front brakes, 2 piston calibers, and the rear 1 piston??

and when pushing the piston back in, should the cap on the brake fluid be removed or should it stay on?? thanks for the help.

I'd imagine 2 piston in front, 1 piston in rear. That's how it is in 03.

Take cap off when pushing them back. Use one of the old pads for this. Actually, I think the cap is supposed to be loosened (so the air can come out), rather than taken completely off. You don't want anything falling in there.

Just make sure you watch the fluid closely as if you have been adding fluid as the brakes wore down when you compress the piston it will force the fluid back into the master cylinder reservoir and overflow. I use a turkey baster looking device to remove the excess. After installing I like to use a pressure bleeder to pull out the old fluid and any air in each line, takes a lot of fluid to do this purge though.

my 2002 has the double piston on the front and single on the rear. I always remove the cap on the brake fluid reservoir. take a couple of paper towels and wrap them around the neck, in case the fluid pushes out of the reservoir.
