A ton of great info in this thread. I bought my 98 Expy on Dec 27th. Since I had the dang thing start missing twice at the same stop light at roughly the same time in the morning two weeks apart.
With no place to work on it myself, I had a local mechanic do diagnostics and repairs. Coils cost me $67 ea plus labor of $100. Plan on buying the 8 pack of Excels hopefully next month. Plan on using the grease trick.
This is all new to me, still used to a distributor cap and rotor. But, they are nothing compared to a Wankel engine I had in a Mazda RX2. That had two distributors and 3 sets of points. Bought this when I was young and stupid!
My Expy most have thought I was a Rockefeller because it's been costing me a small fortune since I bought it
