In dash power point not working.....

When driving cross country the other day, the power point in the front dash quit working when we had a power inverter plugged into it. I did try a different phone charging cord and it still didnt work so i know its the power point and not theower inverter that went bad. I checked the fuse in the power distribution box under the hood and the fuse appears to be ok.

Suggestions?

My guess is you were drawing too much amperage - typically that would result in a blown fuse...but if you checked all of those maybe a melted wire?
