So drank lots of coffee, read lots of threads, did loads of googling and think I have the idea of what I wish to do to gain some MPG, let me know if you would if Iam good or not on this, thank you.
(1) K&N air filter
(2) Get rid of 2 of the 4 cats
(3) Flow Master series 40 muffler
(4) Replace factory fan to electric fan behind Radiator and 2 electric fans in front of AC coil, one on radiator on thermo and 2 in front on switch
(5) Synthetic lubes in diffs
(6) Highway tread in spring and summer (size idea since I will need to buy wheels??)
(7) Use my AT tires in winter and fall
(8) 85150 Edge programmer
(9) brown wire mod ( I know the old quadra-trac full size Jeep Wagoneers got 2MPG or more gain from swapping out the hubs and transfer case kit to make it a selectable 4x4 instead of full time.)
This is all on the 4.6 motor. I was thinking of doing a road trip of 500 miles with a full tank and see how it did factory then do upgrades and repeat it and see how it goes. I dont want to jump blindly into this and want to do as much as possible to gain the best MPG. i only use the 4x4 part for bad weather, dirt roads and sometimes running around the property so I would guess that is a plus in my favor for mpg.
Input would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
