Instrument Panel Display

2008 EL XLT
Digital display in center of instrument panel is dim, can hardly see it during the day, doesn't get brighter when headlights are on either. Won't brighten with light adjustment dial to left of steering wheel.

i wonder if they have the same issues as the 2nd gen with the temp/direction display up on roof panel.. there was an issue of the solder breaking or loosening and causing the display to go out. I know on my 3rd gen, it will go back and forth from bright to dim all by itself. Not sure why... I am not a electrician nor claim to be..but wonder if there is a short somewhere causing this or a low voltage that is reading to it. Again... I really have no idea but thats my best (and limited) guess......
