I hope I am doing this right. I am an Explorer owner getting ready to switch to Expedition. My 1995 has 442,000++ and runs wonderfully but I want an expedition. I will probably keep both. I am looking at 98s to 2002s. Are there particular years or models that are better than others? Are there particular years and models I should avoid? Am I going to run into the same transmission problems? I really appreciate the help.

2000 is one of the better years. I have one that's been pretty trouble free for the past 2 years. The 4 r100 is the stronger transmission, usually comes in the 4x4. Check out our site from the past week, or so. I raised the same question to our members.
