I have a spark plug that has backed out on my 98 EB Expy. I am trying to replace the spark plug but it does not seem to want to thread. Is there some thing I am missing. Never had this issue on any other vehicle I have put plugs in.

Lil help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to all.

Heres one of the latest threads on the "spark plug blowout" issue.

http://expeditionforum.com/showthread.php?t=14091&highlight=plug+blowout

If you find this is your issue try and PM Thermo...he has installed inserts in all of his plug holes. I think he would be able to help you best.

Or do a search on spark plug blowout repair...it is a common issue with the early 2v 5.4's and 4.6's.

Yep looks like have the ol spark plug blow out on #4. I PM'd Thermo but am looking for somewhere local that might have the kit I need. I need this fixed asap as we are a 2 vehicle family and this will start to be an issue quick with 3 kids in 3 in 3 schools and I work and run a small business.

Side note: the issue is the wife drives the expy but refuses to drive my 96 Towncar because its too big. Go figure.

thanks for all the in put guys

PM sent. Your best bet will be to call around and see if any local mechanic will do a "Timesert" fix for you. Probably cost you about $200 or so. But, that will be the quickest and cheapest fix.
