Is there a way to fix this without replacing the whole part?

Is there a way to fix this without replacing the whole bumper cover? Something snagged the wheel well and a small section of the clip area seems to have broken off. I have seen some plastic welding stuff, but never had much luck in actually using it. tempImageo42LRZ.png

I would give it a shot. Use the hot screw driver method and melt the mount back on.

Or I would use a good plastic glue and a cloths pin clamp on it depending on what the back looks like.

Theres typically a dart type plastic pin plastic welded to the panel and it goes in a hole. Thats all that holds the front bumper corners on.....

I found a photo of the back on an eBay listing for a used part... it looks more like a rail than a clip. Not sure how I would re-attach it seeing this.

A Body shop will give you a free estimate. Tape won’t last for long if it even works with amount of tension there. There is some plastic welding options to repair plastic bumpers without replacing that are not too expensive. Hard to tell from the photo if there is torn plastic clip/mounting point or just needs to be clipped back in. Getting a free estimate should give you the info you need to decide.

I had a similar situation with my Explorer, I was pointing it out to a coworker and I pushed on it (decently hard) and it popped back into place

It had been like that for months, and I had pushed on it before with no luck, but I guess I had only pushed it 95% as hard as it needed to pop back.

So it definitely looks like the outer shell has been torn from the long snap in channel. Honestly, if glue or tape will hold it, I’m good with that. Just gotta find the right product.

maybe some epoxy (plastic specific type) and a soft clamp for a few hours. Worth a try, worst case if it doesn't work is you'll have to scrape it out and try something else. Just make sure you don't use so much that it squirts out on the painted plastic.

I repaired many bumpers with 3M or JB plastic weld. If you can extract the broken piece from the channel/clip, you can glue it back together and will be as strong as new.

for the time being, you can pour some hot water on the cover to soften it and push it back into shape so it doesn’t catch on something else.

The 3m tape I posted early will do it. They use it all the time to put trim pieces on Mustangs and other cars. Your vent shades are done that way now erc. If you put a long piece on it and then use clothes pin clamps to hold it for a few minutes it will work.
