Is this a feasible idea?

My 2025 cover has 3 plastic clips that will release by pulling both ends of the cover straight away from the windshield. Mine made a terrible screeching noise but no damage. CJ Dave.

I wish Ford implemented at least one USB port on the top console near the rear view mirror to provide a simple elegant way to connect a dash cam or a radar detector.
That said, I’m considering taking our 2025 Platinum to a reputable automobile electronics shop to see if they could install one for me.
Opinions appreciated.
Thanks
I used a rig from FitDVR to power my dash cam and radar detector. FitDVR calls it a power adapter. It's a small box that has a self-stick pad on the back. The included harness has connectors to plug into the factory 3 wire connector on the passenger side of all of the stuff hidden by the cover on the windshield. It also includes several different cables for various camera power ports. The one cable has a RJ11 connector for most radar detectors. I used a round file to notch the front of the factory cover to not pinch the small wire in the power point wire that now plugs up to the small box. If you don't have a dash cam just don't plug a cable into the camera port on the power adapter box. With my detector mounted I then mounted the small power adapter box in a location that accommodates the power wire going to the detector, a Escort Max 360. If you grab the factory cover by each end and pull down towards the rear view mirror it will release. 3 plastic clips make a screeching noise when releasing. All of this was on my Platinum Max Ultimate. CJ Dave.
