I bought a used 06 exp, former police vehicle. One of the IWE actuators failed so I replaced (it was really trashed). But I found the half shaft still turned with the wheel (2wd selected, engine running, good vac to actuator) Further research showed the little bearing in wheel bearing / hub assembly had failed.
The one the threaded end of the axle shaft sticks thru. OK, no prob, shell out the big bux for a new wheel bearing. But I suspect the bearing failed because the dust cap was missing. So when I replace would like to put a dust cap on also. But I cannot find them. Even Ford does not list. The approx OD is 1.08 inches (27 - 28 mm). Anybody have a source?? Or is it a junkyard trip?
