Hey guys, newbie here....

I have a 2007 XLT w/ the 5.4 and auto trans and have just recently had what seems like tranny slipping problems. Also, when cruise is engaged and you use the accel button to accelerate it gets really jerky. The ''slipping'' doesnt occur at take off. It will randomly ''slip'' while riding and occasionally while passing. Have any of you had problems like these? It's not like me to join a forum and go straight to asking for help but it's my wifes primary ride and want to make sure everything is done right for it. Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately in 2007 they went to the sealed tranny. There is no way to get it in there that I know of.

Actually, there is an access/check/fill plug underneath on the passenger side. It's at the front side corner just above the pan.

However, I wouldn't add anything to that trans because it's 100% electric shift...all shift coils, sealed electric control unit, etc. It takes a very specific trans fluid. An additive MAY do more damage than good...or not. How many miles are on the vehicle? Has the trans ever been serviced?

I just went through a very expensive ordeal with my '07 expy...the whole shift pack/control unit & valve body had to be replaced as a complete unit because the sealed control unit went bad & it's all one integral component as 2007 was the first year that style trans was incorporated...yay!
