jumping in/out 4awd and 4wd

My wife took the ford today and complained that the truck has been jumping between a4wd and 4wd. I put the truck in 4wd last night and drove around fine in heavy snow. I left it in 4wd and she says now the lights are jumping on the dash.
Switch, servo.....????
Help. I am not a Ford fan.
