Hey guys I'm new to the forum and expy world. I recently purchased a 99EB with 4wd. I would like to do a lift and maybe like some 33"s. I don't really know anything about the expy. I know it's 4wd, but how reliable is the 4x4 system?? Mine also has air bags and I wanna get rid of that immediately. How hard is that to do? Is it as simple as leafs and coils or is it way more in depth? I have found some companys that have a 3" body lift. How hard is that to do? I have done them on regular pickup trucks, but with it having full body I'm a little lost. Any help would be appreciated!

Hello and welcome to the forum!

The expy has done quite well off road for me.

Pull the air bags and replace with coils. This would be a great time
to add coil spacers as well.

You can then get new torsion keys for the front to match or some
just crank their torsion bars up all the way.

I used a 2.5" key in the front, 3" spacers in the rear and run 33's with no problem. Good set-up for moderate off road fun!

I pussed out and got a local auto accessories shop to install my body lift. A member on this site ( dgray69 ) had a pretty good write up on his body lift. Last time I looked at it the pics weren't showing up though. Tons of people on here have done it. A member on a different Expedition site ( I'm not spamming, or trying to sway people away from this site. Don't worry) named AaronLG is going to be doing his right away too, and has promised us that he will do a nice write up with lots of pics.

I believe Strutmaster makes a air to coil conversion kit. There are also alot of threads on the conversion process. Just search 'air ride conversion' Here's one for example http://www.expeditionforum.com/showthread.php?t=6782&highlight=air+ride+conversion I'm not trying to sound like one of those guys who just says " use the search!!!" but in this case it will help.
All you need for 33's will be a torsion bar crank in the front, and maybe 2 or 3 inch spacers in the back. You don't really need the body lift. Unless you want to go with 35's. Which you will!!! I have ,2 inch rear spacers a torsion crankand a 3 inch body lift, and I have lots of room for 35's. I didn't have to trim at all.
