So now that I just dropped $1100 after my 5.4 puked a spark plug and destroyed a few things on it's rapid exit, I'm a bit jaded towards Ford's V-8 gas motors. This upsets me because I love my Expedition, but now I'm questioning it's reliability. I would love a diesel, but I've only found one example of a oil burning Expy. This seems like a pretty advanced conversion, well above my talents! So basically I've realized that the only way my Expy will "roll coal" as the kids call it, I'll have to pay somebody to do it! This brings along another issue.... I certainly cannot afford to pay anyone to do that....I had to SCRAPE to pay for the repair bill on the regurgitated plug. Soooooo, I'm gonna have to hit the lottery. Then I figured once I hit the lottery why stop there!?
I'm curious, If you all had unlimited funds to drop into your Expy, what would you do? Here's what I'm thinking once I get my cartoonishly large check.
First, I'd have the first ever powerstroke Expedition. I'm sure it would be a necessity to run straight axle front in order to handle the weight, so that'd be plus anyhow. I'd drop the AWD transfer case, seems a bit weak, let alone behind the diesel! I'm picturing Himalaya/Avalanche/Bronco back end. I'm thinking a removable bulkhead behind the rear seat like the Avalanche so I can pop off a removable top like the old Bronco! Or just leave the top off like the Himalaya concept like a large Sport trac. Eh....enough dreaming for now, I'd love to hear what all of you would do, so I can steal your ideas when I hit the lottery! I realize this thread had no substance, but I gotta waste some time while I'm forced to sit through **** in boots.....
